I was in the middle of procrastination and needed to watch a new youtube video. My friend got me onto this one, and I haven’t been able to stop laughing since…

Beyond Gate 6:O.J. Simpson sentenced

December 5, 2008

After being known as the most famous person to get away with murder for more than a decade, OJ got sentenced to 15 years in prison today for an armed robbery incident in Las Vegas last year. He must serve at least nine years, and his sentencing today will definately stir up controversy in the public square.

Watch his sentencing here:

Given Michael Vick is already in jail, and according to Mayor Bloomberg, Plaxico is headed there for sure, the NFL may produce the most inmates of any sport in the world.

The Great Debate: Beirut or Beer Pong?

December 2, 2008

I’m tagging this entry as part of our “Beyond Gate Six” category, because nobody’s playing beer pong inside gate six, right? *wink*

It’s been argued back and fourth through time, but which do you prefer?

Beirut doesn’t suffer the negative connotations that the word “beer” brings, although it does sound a bit pretentious. According to the Daily Princetonian, the name Beirut came into existence during the Lebanese civil war, Beirut being the capital of Lebanon and the game being analogous to bombs being dropped or missiles being fired.

According to a survey conducted by College Humor, out of 44,938 respondents, 23.6% prefer the term “Beirut”, while 76.4% used the term “Beer Pong”.

So which is it at St. Johns?

December 2, 2008

Brandy came out (no she’s not gay) in last week’s Us Weekly admitting that she and ex Robert Smith had never actually married despite their formal claim almost 2 years ago. The duo had been featured on a reality show on MTV chronicling their marriage and the birth of their daughter. (I wonder if MTV had known all along)

Thanksgiving: New York

November 27, 2008

It’s so cold here, god this weather is annoying here.

Turkey Day at my house

Turkey Day at my house

My family has all gathered here in New York for a nice sit down to eat more food than we’re physically supposed to, and be very happy about it.  More to come later, after the tryptophan starts to kick in.  In the mean time, here’s something to think about… (more…)

Canadian-Style Thanksgiving: Live Blog

November 27, 2008

What’s Going on, St. John’s,

First off, Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope wherever you are today, you are enjoying the turkey and pies you’ll be eating today.

Well, I am blogging today from my aunts house on the East Side of Manchester, NH. I figured, since we will all have a different experience today with our families, that today I would keep a running blog of every awkward, stuffing, and alcohol induced moment around the household. That way, you can see how we do it over on the canadian side of the spectrum. So, come along with me on this journey to turkey heaven…
(For the record, if my words get slurred towards the end of this, blame it on the turkey, not the drinks)
